There are only two weeks left to nominate for the South West 3R Awards (Reduce-Reuse-Recycle).

Environmentally conscious businesses, schools, local governments, and community groups are urged to submit their nominations for these prestigious awards before the closing date of Friday 3 September 1999.

South West Recycling Co-ordinator, Samantha Reece stated that there had been a high level of interest generated to date.

"We have had businesses from all over the south west contact the office to ask questions and secure nomination forms," Samantha said.

"Based on these calls, we are expecting a record number of entries and I am looking forward to reading how these individuals and groups are making a difference to the south west environment.

"The 3R awards are an excellent way for the "quiet achievers" in our community to receive the recognition they deserve as well as some financial incentive."

The awards will be presented at Bridgetown Motel on Friday 17 September.
