    SWWALGA announces new recycling co-ordinator

Friday 11 June 1999

The South West (WA) Local Government Association (SWWALGA) is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Ms Samantha Reece to the position of South West Recycling Co-ordinator.

Samantha will principally be responsible for liaising with South West councils on waste management and recycling matters and initiatives, inclusive of Bunbury through to Augusta/Margaret River.

Before joining SWWALGA, Samantha worked for the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) as Public Affairs Manager and prior to that with the Water Corporation as Public Affairs Officer.

With over seven years experience in marketing and public relations, Samantha was primarily responsible for event management, media liaison and a number of lobbying initiatives while employed with the AHA.

A new resident in Busselton, Samantha said that she anticipated that the next few years would hold both challenges and rewards in the recycling arena.

"The South West is committed to ensuring waste management and recycling remains a priority within the region and I am confident that as a result of this commitment the region will be seen as one of the leading authorities in the recycling area," Samantha said.

"I am looking forward to working with the councils and local government associations in securing the future for the South West environment and subsequently its residents." Samantha is located at the SWWALGA office located at 6 Eliot Street, Bunbury.
